3 Day Cardiac Diet Meal plan:

DAY 1

BREAKFAST

1 Cup black coffee or tea, ½ Grapefruit or ½ cup fresh squeezed juice, 1 Slice toast and 1 Teaspoon peanut butter.

LUNCH

1 Cup black coffee or tea, ½ Cup plain tuna and 1 Slice toast.

DINNER

1 Cup Vanilla ice cream, 3 Oz. any kind of meat, 1 Cup string beans, 1 Cup carrots and 1 Small apple.

DAY 2

BREAKFAST

1 Cup black coffee or tea, 1 boiled egg, 1 Slice toast and half banana.

LUNCH

1 Cup Black Coffee or Tea, 1 Cup cottage cheese and 5 saltine crackers (soda crackers).

DINNER

1 hot dogs, 1 Cup cabbage or broccoli, 1 Cup carrots or turnips greens, ½ Cup Vanilla ice cream and ½ Banana.

DAY 3

BREAKFAST

1 Cup black coffee or tea 5 Saltine soda crackers 1 ounce cheddar cheese and 1 Small apple.

LUNCH

1 Cup black coffee or tea 1 boiled egg and 1 Slice toast.

DINNER

1 Cup plain tuna, 1 Cup carrots, 1 Cup cauliflower or green beans, 1 Cup cantaloupe and ½ Cup Vanilla ice cream.

After 3 days of dieting, you can lose about 10 pounds. Subsequently four days of normal eating you may resume a 3 day cardiac diet.

Toast: rice cake, whole grain cereal, saltine crackers, tortilla
Banana: kiwis, apricots, grapes

Lunch

Coffee or tea: green tea, non-sugar hot coco
Cottage cheese: ricotta or cheddar cheese, plain Greek yogurt, ham slice
Saltine cracker: plain toast, rice cake, whole grain cereal

Dinner

Hot dog: baloney, bratwurst, soy, beans, turkey, tofu, veggie
Banana: kiwis, apricots, grapes
Broccoli: Brussel sprouts, cauliflower, asparagus, cabbage, beet root

For the third day

You can have the cardiac diet substitutions in the same way like the menu in the first and second day.

– Veggies may be eaten raw or cooked (preferably steamed)
– 1 cup equals 250 ml
– 1 ounce equals 28 grams
– Water, coffee, tea, Diet cola, sugar free drinks may be used at any time during the 3 days
